Social science and the humanities themselves routinely don’t get the respect they merit outside of their own ecosystems. Despite social science’s ability both to help us understand ourselves, and to address today’s most pressing issues, its impact is often underrated. It's not that no one is trying to demonstrate impact -- just look at SSHRC's Impact Awards as prime evidence. But how can we measure impact, and in a way that will convince the wider world? Join Michael Todd from SAGE Publishing as he hosts a lively discussion with representatives from the arenas of policy, the economy, and the public to duiscuss what tools exist, what are necessary, and more fundamentally, how do we even define impact.
