The Canadian Society for the Study of Religion/Société Canadienne pour l'Étude de la Religion (CSSR/SCÉR) is a Canadian academic society oriented to the scholarly study of religion that fosters an interdisciplinary environment, encourages research in the development of the study of religion with particular reference to Canada, and promotes a critical examination of the goals, methods, and styles of teaching demanded by the discipline. This year's annual meeting will take place June 1 to 4, 2019 in conjunction with the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of British Columbia. The Congress 2019 theme "Circles of Conversation" focuses on engagement and the deep, two-way relationships between the university and the communities that it serves, with particular attention to productive scholarly relations with Indigenous communities. The CSSR/SCÉR invites submissions that address the Congress 2019 theme or all aspects of religion from various academic perspectives.
