Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Science (CSHPS )
Conference dates:
Saturday, June 1, 2019 to Monday, June 3, 2019
To attend this conference, register for Congress and add CSHPS #25 in Section 3 of the registration form.
Registration is required for all conference attendees, including speakers, presenters, panelists, organizers and those chairing or attending a session.
CSHPS/SCHPS is the premier Canadian forum bringing together historians, philosophers, sociologists, and a wide range of interdisciplinary scholars interested in exploring all aspects of science, past and present. We publish a newsletter, Communique, two times a year, and our annual conference is held within the Congress of Social Sciences and Humanities. Recent conferences have featured a large and diverse program, with between 100 and 150 presentations. We particularly encourage scholars to engage with the theme for Congress 2019 – “Circles of Conversation”, but all topics and themes within history and philosophy of science (broadly construed) are welcome. CSHPS/SCHPS is a bilingual society. Individual papers may be given in English or French, but efforts to broaden participation are appreciated (e.g. a presentation in English could be accompanied by a PowerPoint or handout in French, and vice versa). Similarly, sessions can be presented in either English or French, but bilingual sessions are especially welcomed.
